Operating without water, or “no-load running,” will not only shorten the pump’s lifespan but can also cause excessive noise when functioning in the air for extended periods. Remember to disconnect the power supply when changing the water. If the pump is obstructed by mud, debris, or salt, it should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water before use. The pump operates within a temperature range of 40-95°F. Please note that all pumps undergo professional water testing by our manufacturer prior to shipment. If you find a small amount of water in the pump upon receipt, it is normal and expected, stemming from this quality check. The pump is new and operational. Additionally, some lubricant on the internal shaft ensures the motor’s effective performance. For those with delicate fish or aquatic plants, it’s advisable to initially use the pump in a separate tank before introducing it to your primary fish tank. In the event of unexpected noise or cessation of function, it may be due to a blockage, requiring regular cleaning or a drop of olive oil on the rotor.
